What is AN Arizona Charitable Tax Credit?
As an Arizona taxpayer, you can receive a tax credit - not merely a deduction, of up to $800 if married filing jointly, and up to a $400 for single filing. This means that, by donating to Love Tree Farm, you get credit for that amount from the Arizona Department of Revenue, dollar for dollar, just as if you'd paid it in AZ Income Tax to them. So, your AZ Income Tax money can stay local, instead of going to Phoenix, for this qualified charitable purpose. You can take advantage of this credit when you make a qualified charitable contribution to Love Tree Farm! You can even donate monthly, in smaller amounts adding up to the annual limits, until the day you file your taxes!
What is the Difference Between a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization AND A QCO?
Many Non-Profit organizations are 501(c)(3) Charitable Organizations. Qualified Charitable Organizations (QCOs) are specially-vetted 501(c)(3) Charitable Organizations in that they directly aid those who utilize the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which was established to help employed families struggling to make ends meet.
